This is the first in what will hopefully be a ongoing series of monthly reports by Crack at Crackbillionair dissecting the results at ecstasydata.org. We hope you will find his commentary as informative and entertaining as we do. We're still working out the formatting, but hope to have that problem licked by next month's review. - Nathan
I am going to be looking at lab results and examining and comparing different pills, as a contributor to Dancesafe, and I am truly enthused to be working with such an institution in pill reporting. Thank you for the great honor. It's going to be a lot of fun tracking some pills and some trends with all of you. It's time to take a look at some of this month's more interesting trends in Ecstasy, with the help of the community's most conclusive resource -- ecstasydata.org's latest round of lab results. Let's start at the top with the beloved G Spots/G Ladies, which have been lighting up the East Coast all summer. The other day we surmised that we didn't know how any Pokeball, almost 100 mgs lighter and most likely adulterated with caffeine, could beat a G Spot. This month's test results from EcstasyData help to back our assertion.
Far be it from me to belittle the “mighty” Pokeball brand of Ecstasy, but I’ve had a lot of hits in my time that have been adulterated with caffeine. I can’t see how the East Coast’s top pill, considering its size, and our own trip findings, can be less of a bomb than any Pokeball that’s 16.7 % caffeine and about 290 mgs compared to the almost 400 mg G Spot. -- Crack I've reviewed reports of the G Spots on pillreports.com on my blog here, here, here, and here.

G Spots have come in for testing from New York City and from Long Island, and EcstasyData has found in both cases that they contain 1 part MDMA and no parts adulterants, making the G Spot "pure MDMA", at a very big 382 to 393 mgs. Now the dose of this "pure MDMA" is always in question, and a pill could be considered "pure MDMA" and can still be a weak pill, based on the amount of MDMA it contains. (e.g. - A pill could have 5mg of MDMA and no other active ingredients. One might consider this a “pure MDMA” pill but it wouldn’t get you high - ed.) But it's safe in this case to go ahead and classify the G Spots as MDMA high when considering the contents, size of the pill, all of the glowing trip reports about G Spots on www.pillreports.com, plus my own experiences.
Let's take a look at the White Puma from New York, found to contain MDMA as the only active ingredient with a pill weight of 176 mgs.

The differences? Well, size and composition. Notice how the California Puma is about twice the weight of the NY Puma, and that while the California Puma is composed of 20 parts MDMA and 1 part caffeine, making it 95.2 % MDMA by composition, this pill is still adulterated with caffeine. The presence of two identical imprints, one adulterated and one not, indicates a copycat producer on the market. This is an excellent cautionary tale on the importance of stringent testing, because anyone not obsessing over the quality of the pills they may be purchasing could easily gloss over the information in this month's lab results and make off-base assumptions about these White Pumas. It could be that both the New York and California White Pumas are strong pills, and that the size of the California pill makes it a very big bomb, one that is likely stronger than the smaller New York pill, despite the fact that it is adulterated with caffeine. As a purist, I have a problem with adulterants, but as a realist, I might be inclined to do some research with the California Pumas anyway. Let's move on to the round White and Red Diamonds. We say "round" because these are not the diamond cut pills floating around London, Detroit, and the East Coast in pink with speckles, yellow, and red (below), which have generated quite a buzz.
Red diamond cutouts (above).
In the case of round Diamonds tested this month, we see the White Diamonds from Carthage are piperazines (3 parts TMFPP, 2 parts BZP), while the round Red or Pink Diamonds from California contain only MDMA.

Again, you have the same brand floating around, this time in different colors, and with different ingredients. And again, we don't think they are from the same operation, but we do think that the white pill maker went to a lot of trouble to try to replicate the red pill. Notice that the stamp on the red pill is a little more intricate, and that the red pill is a little bigger in terms of weight. They might go unnoticed by a less than intensely critical eye.

You have next a Pink Monkey, also from Carthage--what's going on there? And the Monkey is a mix of piperazine and caffeine, and is an outpress, which has that waxy, pipey look about it. The Pink Monkey also reminds us what many feel, that outpresses are largely not to be trusted and that most piperazine pills are outpresses or cutouts. Skipping down to the Green AK47's. I discussed a report on Pill Reports about this one a while back.

Now this one might not be a piperazine, but it's another completely fake/adulterated pill that's an outpress and has a waxy look. Does that say something about the look of real MDMA pills then, conversely? Next, we have fake Blue Supermans. These pills are 1 part MDMA, 6 parts piperazines. Hate to see it. As far as I'm concerned, Supermans have been a steady brand of Ecstasy with a pretty good reputation. It says a lot about the people running these operations that try to get fake pills past us These are the only adulterated pills in this month's batch of test results that could potentially fool the field testing kits.

Skipping down one to the White Homer Simpson cutout. You have another piperazines pill backing up those like me who are generally suspicious of cutouts. There were some that were reputable, like the Blue Stars and Purple Starfish, and the aforementioned Pink and Red Diamonds. These Flintstones-like cartoon cutouts have been almost entirely piperazines, notably the Obamas, Snoopys, Ninja Turtles, Autobots and Decepticons seized by the DEA last year. There have been others.

Abby Roads (San Francisco). Capsules, 2 parts MDMA, 1 part Procaine. In considering this situation, I would think that somebody who had a little extra powder, or a lot, probably put these together and capped them themselves. Procaine is an anesthetic drug sometimes used as an adulterant, and it is not the safest of adulterants. It can negatively affect those with heart, liver, or clotting problems.

Then we have an Orange/Red Fleur de Lis from San Francisco, where a lot of scary reports about Fleur de Lis have originated. These are also made from piperazines, like the Green Fleur de Lis that showed up in last month's EcstasyData lab report of the Fry Bomb sent in by the new DanceSafe Bellingham chapter.

I have been doing a lot of reporting on Fleur de Lis -- a personal cause for me -- since a close friend got stuck with Blue Fleur de Lis in New York, and they made her very sick. It seems that it would be safe to say that any pill with the Fleur De Lis imprint should be avoided and the dealers of them educated.
As we see by comparing lab results, the green and red/orange Fleur de Lis have a slightly different composition, as they contain a different ratio of TFMPP and BZP, causing me to wonder if the composition ratio in the red pill is more dangerous to the consumer, considering the fact that more reports on red/orange Fleur de Lis causing people extreme discomfort, kindly put.

I have a pet peeve about people calling pills by their right names. This is not a Trident or a Crown, it's a Maserati, as the trident is the widely known insignia of that automobile. Calling pills by their right names and labeling them properly is very important to consistent pill reporting, and can cut down on a lot of confusion in the community. A recent example for us here in New York would be that many, most in fact, were calling the Blue Fleur di Lis Blue Adidas' when they were in the area. For those who don't test and who might rely on the perceived reputation of a brand, it would be nice if they at least got the brand right, though we would never endorse such an approach. Next we have an MDMA Blue Dolphin from Boston. In my longstanding experience, the Blue Dolphin brand is historically dirty, and I've written a lot about the amount of adulterated Blue Dolphins I have seen and tracked.

Something is up with either the pill, the reported name, or the picture because the pictured Dolphin looks very white. There's a note at EcstasyData on this one that says they're gonna see if the lab can confirm the color or take another pic, if they haven't destroyed the pill yet. In tracking these pills so closely, and in being fair, I'd have to tell you that I have seen several Blue Dolphins of late that are not suspected to be adulterated, and none in the last few months that are believed adulterated. Despite recent trends, I'd be very careful with the brand, in general. Also, the clean Dolphins we have been seeing have a logo in which the dolphin is facing right (below), not left, as is pictured.

Next we have White Smiley Faces, out of Denmark. Though we've seen some clean Smileys in different colors here in the states, we aren't surprised that these are mCPP, especially considering Europe's piperazine situation. Also, we see an impressed piperazine pill, this time going against the popular notion connecting piperazines with outpresses.

Before we get to our grand finale, the Pokeballs, we turn our attention toward the PL. On May 12th, we see a result on a Yellow PL that is MDMA, but more recently, we see a PL that is unidentifiable by the lab. It's such a prevalent and yet disturbing trend, when we see a real pill pop up which is followed by a fake, same brand. That's why we must keep in mind that for some this is not a recreation but something purely economic. Fake E is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

As you can also see, they are adulterated, having one part out of six caffeine. We've been talking about this for a while. The mighty Pokeball, exalted by so many, is over 16 % caffeine. What does that tell you? For me, a lot of things. Like, how an adulterated pill could still be so strong, such that there is nary a bad review for any Pokeball?
Or, does it say something about the strength of pills in the state of California and all of these other states where Pokeballs seem to be dominating? I think they probably are strong, the actual amount of MDMA represented by the 80+% in the pill is probably very high, but I also think having caffeine in the pill sets a precedent. I bet that you will never see a totally pure Pokeball, but could see ones where the makers raise the amount of caffeine and lower the amount of MDMA, as the brand is reaching mythic proportion and has such good word of mouth. You would think the maker would be able to sell a great deal of sub-standard Pokeballs. Would he/they be above doing it more when they already do it to begin with? In tracking back through earlier lab results at EcstasyData, if we go back to the spring, we can see evidence of two more Pokeballs adulterated with caffeine, with that same 5 parts MDMA, 1 part caffeine ratio: the Purple Dragonfly and Blue Star Pokeballs, which recently surfaced in Tennessee.

Let's take a look at some of the trends we spotted in the lab results between June 17th and July 21st:
- Of 21 pills tested, 7 contained only MDMA (one pill showed up twice, that being the G Spot/G Lady.)
- Of 21 pills tested, 7 contained no MDMA at all (2 un-detecteds, 4 only piperazines, one pill contained piperazine, ephedrine, and caffeine [Pink Monkey])
- Of the 21 pills tested, 3 contained MDMA adulterated with caffeine
- Of the 21 pills tested, 1 contained MDMA and piperazines (Blue Superman, 1 part MDMA, 4 parts TMFPP, 2 parts BZP)
- Of the 21 pills tested, 1 contained MDMA and was adulterated by Procaine (capsule)
- Of the 21 pills tested, 1 contained MDMA and Methylsulfonylmethane (25 parts MDMA, 1 part Methylsufonylmethane) (capsule)
- Of the 21 pills tested, 14 are adulterated (some active ingredient present other than MDMA)
That seems like a very high number of adulterated pills, and though some adulterated pills are predominantly MDMA, I still feel it's unacceptable. Let's force these makers to do better by testing and sharing information. Get a testing kit, and share your results with the rest of the commuity. Send questionable pills into the lab, and if you value the service send money. It costs $120 for each, and we only charge a $40 copay to submit a pill. The rest is made up by donations. We were able to set aside $10,000 in the past year or so for the project, but that may not happen again anytime soon. Consider setting up a recurring donation of even $10 a month to help offset the cost of this very expensive project. Thanks for reading this far, and I look forward to discussing the ecstasy market with you in the coming months.
Be Safe,
