The Therapeutic Use of MDMA

Before ecstasy was made illegal in 1985 it was used as an adjunct to psychotherapy by psychiatrists and therapists who found it remarkable in its ability to facilitate self-discovery and healing. Government-approved research is about to begin in Spain using ecstasy (MDMA) to treat rape survivors with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). See MAPS for more details.
