Yeah seriously the dancesafe

Yeah seriously the dancesafe forums aren't going to come back if the content from the old forums is gone. The only reason I came here was because of the vast amount of information still on this website. This place is slow as hell, the only thing that kept it going is the old information. All that is gone, and there are now many other websites with much more traffic to keep them going.

 Ok fair enough, I suppose,

 Ok fair enough, I suppose, so riddle me this, as I am very confused by this change (which was sudden to me) I have a very slow internet connection (I live in the boonies by choice) & the pages never completely load for me. Where are my private messages?? Not the ones from before, obviously those are gone, but the new ones. How do I access those? Is that a stupid question??

the old board

Um, guys?

There was very little traffic to the old board system, and especially very little traffic by new users. And it wasn't compatible with the new infrastructure. And the internet has changed since UBBThreads was a thing. And the only way to updated the regular, main site was via a UBBThreads post that had it's own weird formatting or via raw HTML. And we posted about updating the site multiple times in the admin forums and got almost no response.

We now have a far more powerful website, built using Drupal and Amazon Web Services. Obviously we treated the forums as a low priority and that seems to have made several people sad. For that I am sorry.  Bryan will be spearheading the effort to rebuild the forums here in a way that they make sense, with an eye for keeping the forum structure relatively the same. He's a busy guy so please help him out by using the 'contact dancesafe' form or emailing him. User accounts do need to be recreated.

And DJ Andrew Wiggin donated a couple times to keep ecstasydata.org running for a couple years. None of those funds went into general website maintenance nor DanceSafe general operating funds. We're still pretty much all-volunteer run, and there's only so much that we can do during our free time while holding down 'real jobs'. After struggling for many years with very little disposable income we were able to gather enough to finally redo our website, and we're pretty happy with the results. The store is working a lot better, we can add and update content a lot faster, we can tie in with various social media, we can easily manage a lot more users with different permission levels and roles, we can use a CRM to contact members and donors, etc, etc, etc. We're still basically in beta phase here folks. We don't even have our new skin on yet, and a lot of stuff still needs work and tweaks, and whole sections are yet to be written. Give us some time and/or offer us some help.

These times they are a changin

Wow I came back at the wrong time. I was thinking about this place the other day, and the peolpe that were here. Dancesafe helped me out at an important time in my life that shaped who I am today. Anyways I dont want to get all mushy here, I had originally planned on doing this in the thinking thread but it looks like the old is gone. Its been a while but this is the official farewell dancesafe post.

To those who are brave enough to talk to random strangers on the internet to become random friends on the internet.

You stay classy.

 Agreed NewLove. I had to remake my account & all I wanted to do was log on & see if Cao sent me a message. This is more than odd of you ask me....NTM the weird slang all over the place. What happened?

but there are a lot of new names I don't recognize. Why was there no warning given in email that the forum was about to change? This is really fucked up. What happened to Mr. Wiggins who donated to keep this forum alive.. ?

There is no Social anymore and there never will be. I feel like this place is dead and is never coming back ever again.
