All three testing kits in one convenient and cheaper package! Includes 1 each of the Mecke, Marquis, and Simon's Reagents. 3 kits/4 bottles total.
The Mecke Reagent is a solution of selenious acid in sulfuric acid. Mecke Reagent produces clearly different color results for DXM and MDMA, which is why it is now DanceSafe's preferred reagent for MDMA testing. It can also be used to test for the presence of 2C-T-x variants and certain opiates.
Color reactions:
- MDxx - Green turning to blue
- DXM - yellow
- Mephedrone - rusty brown/red, 'watery'
- Codeine/morphine/hydrocodone - very dark bluish green
- Oxycodone - Olive
- 2C-T-x - yellow through red to purple
The color reactions for MDMA, MDA, an MDEA are the same. You can then use the Simon's Reagent to tell the difference between MDA and MDMA/MDE. MDE is relatively rare.
The Marquis Reagent is a mixture of concentrated sulfuric acid and formaldehyde. The Marquis Reagent is a very good field test for a wide variety of substances.
Color reactions:
- MDxx - purple to black
- Speed - orange
- DXM - grey to black, releases a slight bit of smoke
- Mephedrone - orange/red
- 2C-B - Yellow to green over 30 seconds
- 2C-T-x - Orange to salmon
- BZP - No color change, fizzes
The color reactions for MDMA, MDA, and MDEA are the same purple to black. Methamphetamine and amphetamine are the same orange. You can then use the Simon's Reagent to tell the difference between MDA and MDMA/MDEA, or between methamphetamine and amphetamine. MDEA is relatively rare.
The Simon's Reagent kit is a secondary test that tells the difference between MDMA/MDA or between methamphetamine and amphetamine. Contains two bottles.
Simon's reagent is sodium nitroprusside in a basic buffer. It works by detecting 'secondary amines', such as the 'meth' in METHamphetamine and in mythylenediaoxy-METHamphetamine (MDMA). We use it after testing a substance with Marquis or Mecke Reagent.
If a substances tests positive for an ecstasy-like substance by turning to purple/black with Marquis or Mecke, then a color-change reaction with Simon's indicates the presence of MDMA or MDE.
If a substance tests positive for a speed-like substance by turning orange with the Marquis reagent, then a color-change reaction with the Simon's indicates the presence of methamphetamine.
